Fay
Following a history of postural problems and injuries, I was recommended Pilates by a sports massage therapist and first started attending Pilates classes in early 2012. Having experienced significant benefits myself, I decided to train as an instructor and in 2016 I did my first teacher mat training with Stott Pilates, which offers a contemporary approach to the original exercise method pioneered by the late Joseph Pilates. I have done a variety of workshops each year to increase my knowledge and ensure my training is up to date.
In 2019 I bought a reformer and tower and in 2021 I did my reformer training with Stott Pilates. I then did tower training in 2023 and chair training in 2024 with Alison Salmond OsteoPilates. These courses had a more classical focus and in 2025 I decided to retrain as a Comprehensive Classical teacher with the Classical Pilates Centre.
I teach beginner, improver and intermediate Pilates group mat classes and one to one private studio large apparatus and mat classes.
Shelley
Shelley discovered Pilates on the suggestion of a friend after many years of practicing yoga. She was quickly hooked, feeling improvements in strength, core stability and control as well as general wellbeing. She has now been practising for around 10 years and decided to train as an instructor in 2023 (those in Histon will have witnessed Fay grilling her on anatomy every week ahead of exams!). She looks forward to sharing her love of Pilates in a relaxed, welcoming and down to earth atmosphere.
We both have a passion for helping people to move better and get stronger and more mobile. Pilates really can be a life changing form of exercise so if you’re considering giving it a try do get in touch. We look forward to welcoming you into our classes soon!
